It is important that any feed program ensures that a constant growth rate is achieved over the growing period, this ensures that joint conformation and development occurs with incidence of Development Orthopedic Disease conditions. Weanling mix helps provide the daily requirements for amino acids, minerals and vitamins in a palatable textured feed.
Live Yeast is included within this formulation as an aid to ensure optimal digestive tract and hind gut function and for general health and coat conditioning.

Weanling Mix has been formulated to balance pasture and hay and should not be diluted with additional cereals or supplements unless directed by a veterinarian. Good quality pasture and hay should be offered in conjunction with weanling mix to provide adequate roughage intake. Regular exercise is an important aspect of yearling management to ensure sound bone and joint development.
Offer the daily feed allocation in as many feeds as possible, but certainly no less than two feeds per day.

Should pasture growth be of exceptional quality due to enhanced seasonal conditions or a yearling growing at a greater than average rate due to the a natural variation in metabolic efficiency between individuals, then feeding rates may need to be adjusted to avoid excessive growth rates which may have an adverse impact on joint and bone development. You should consult a experienced equine nutritionist to make adjustments appropriately.
